The “Energy efficiency and green economy” Programme, which is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria (MEET) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is aimed to promote sustainable energy solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The total amount of the grant procedure is 293 374 500 Levs = € 150 million. All proposals shall be submitted to the General Directorate “European Funds for Competitiveness” MEET at the following address: Sofia 1000, “September 6″ № 21. The projects will be implemented in the Republic of Bulgaria and the deadline for submission of proposals is 31 October 2013. By applying to the program, SMEs will achieve: reduction of energy consumption; reduction of carbon dioxide emissions; increased eco-efficiency and reliability; contribution to a cleaner environment; receiving grants of up to 50%.
Objectives of the procedure: Provision of integrated investment and advisory support to Bulgarian SMEs for the transition to a “green economy” by encouraging the implementation of projects directly related to the implementation of energy-efficient production technologies and the introduction of renewable energy sources, application of technology for reduction of the energy intensity of the production, as well as measures for improvement of business processes and energy management of the company.
Duration: The duration of each project may not exceed 12 months from the date on which the grant agreement enters into force
Size of grants:
Total: 293 374 500 BGN = 150 000 000 euro
- Minimum amount: no minimum
- Maximum amount: 2,000,000 BGN for each individual project
- Intensity: 30% to 50% of total eligible costs of the project and is determined by the type of project.
